Car sales in Venezuela plummet 50.5 percent in July
Sales of new vehicles in Venezuela fell 50.5 percent in July compared to July 2007. Total vehicle sales were affected by restrictions on foreign car imports and supplies for vehicle production, amid a strong economic expansion driven by high oil prices.
The Venezuelan Automobile Chamber (Cavenez) reported on Wednesday that total car sales in July dropped to 21,309 from 43,077 in July 2007, when a new record in total sales of vehicles was set.
